Are the characters and plot just too dull to make it worth reading? I think it is 'literature' and I didn't find it dull or boring although I can understand that this won't be a novel that grabs everyone The characters are all small players on a larger stage and their individual stories arent that sensational They are each tragic and moving; Well I was moved Most of the players are victims a few are real monsters and all are caught up in the Nazi machine; wittingly and unwittingly by varying degrees complicit in the horror that German fascism unleashed on its own people and subseuently the wider world The author describes a cheerless society unraveling over two years at the tail end of WW2 via the actions of one mild middle aged couple following the death o

PDF/EPUB Hans Fallada í Alone in Berlin MOBI Ï Alone in Kindle - í alone epub, berlin download, Alone in epub, Alone in Berlin EpubThis is a good book but not an easy read Very interesting insight into how awful life was for ordinary German people during the war not the complete Hitler supporters of popular media by any means The fear & suspicion are tangible My difficulty with the book was the lack of sympathetic characters The author bravely shows us real people with real flaws in very difficult situations who are not always likeable He also introduces us to some really awful characters with little or no redeeming features A compelling story of courage

PDF/EPUB Hans Fallada í Alone in Berlin MOBI Ï Alone in Kindle - í alone epub, berlin download, Alone in epub, Alone in Berlin EpubYou know from the very beginning of Alone in Berlin that this is not to be a happy book it was written in the aftermath of the Second World War and is based on the true account of a couple who resisted the Nazi RegimeAlone in Berlin is suffocating The darkness The cruelty The sycophancy The struggle to survive The way the system eats itself But in Anna and Otto uangel we glimpse the beauty of the human soul in their futile attempt to retain their dignity in the face of a Facist regime that wishes to crush their spirits under its Jackboots
